Thought Bricks 15 – Follow Up

One of the things Bernard mentions in Lesson 15, (to paraphrase) “and so educate our subconscious mind in the way it should go.”, is one of my favourite topics. A lot of what goes on in our subconscious mind happens in response to what we ask of it. When we ask a question of our subconscious mind it will tend to work on it and try and provide an answer. Often we are asking our subconscious mind questions without realising it. Therefore our subconscious mind is providing “answers” without us realising it.

For example, if a difficult situation keeps occurring and we ask “Why does this keep happening to me?” we get very different answer than if we ask “How can I get what I want instead of this?”. If we ask an even clearer question “How can I get….(and ask for something very clear and specific)? Then the answer will be very clear and specific.

If we ask “Why does this keep happening to me?” in a plaintive “victim” way, the “answer” we get is more of the same kind of thinking, feeling and circumstances which are causing the situation we are asking about. Our subconscious is showing us the cause, because we asked “Why?”  In other words we get more of the same; because we “asked” for more of the same, without realising that is what we are doing. If we think of what we want and ask for that instead, our subconscious mind will then get to work to look for answers to that question.

If we plaintively ask, “Why do I keep getting into unhappy relastionships?”, then we our subconscious will get to work to show us all the types of thoughts and feelings which create unhappy relationships. If we plaintively ask, “Why do I never have enough money?”, then our our subconscious will get to work to show us all the types of thoughts and feelings which create lack of money. Yet, none of things are what we are really want.

The principal is simple, only ask for what you want. Ask, “How can I create a happy relationship?”. Ask, “How do I get plenty of money, for my needs?”.  Ask, “How can I work better with my subconscious mind?” Your subconscious mind is your servant, and a powerful allay. Never set it to work on tasks which will bring you unhappiness, or things you do not want.

Any time you “play the victim”, your subconscious mind will believe you and support you in that. Any time you “play the wonder worker”, your subconscious mind will believe you and support you in that too. The more consistently you play the role you choose the more consistent the results you will get. As Bernards points out, we need to follow the promptings, hints and ideas which come to us from our subconscious. They may not all work out in the way we hope for and expect. We may need to make adjustments here and there, but one idea will lead to an even better one, then an even better one. Our relationship with our subconscious mind grows better over time the more we bring it into our awareness.

Be aware of what you are asking, change it (if need be) to what you really want, and you will change what you get Do not ask “Why (am I getting what I do not want)?” when you really want to know “How (can I get _______)?”.
